Rhea was a kind-hearted mother, who adored her children unconditionally, she was helpless to the cruel nature of her husband and it didn't matter to her that it was prophesized that their son would outpower and take Cronus' position. After Zeus' birth the couple seems to have drifted apart. Cronus considers that she hates him, before he vomits up the children he swallowed, with the drink Zeus concocted.
